Property, Track, and Utility Leases and Agreements

P&W has extensive property and track capacity/storage space available at various locations across our network. Parties interested in leasing property, storing rail equipment, utilizing available sidetrack, and/or team tracks may submit requests to the Engineering Department using our online contact form or by mailing the request to Providence and Worcester Railroad Company, 75 Hammond Street, Worcester, MA 01610, Attn: Engineering Department. All requests for new track construction must be processed through the Engineering Department and must comply with both industry and P&W railroad specifications and construction requirements. If P&W approves a request to lease property, store rail equipment, utilize available sidetracks, and/or team tracks, then the interested party will be required to execute standard form agreements with P&W.

Requests to access and occupy P&W’s right of way or other property for the purpose of installing utility occupations must be submitted to the Engineering Department through our online contact form. Utility occupations include, but are not limited to, electric power transmission or telephone lines, cellular communication towers, fiber optic lines, pole lines, antenna television lines, heat or gas mains, gas, steam, chemical, petroleum, and other pipe lines, and other structures which may be considered as utility occupations. If P&W approves a request to occupy its right of way or other property with utility facilities, then the interested party will be required to execute a standard License Agreement for Wire, Pipe, and Cable Transverse Crossings and Longitudinal Occupations and comply with applicable industry and P&W railroad specifications and construction requirements.
